My Top Tips For Shopping The Black Friday Sales
With Christmas fast approaching (how did that happen?!), planning ahead can be one of the most thrifty ways to do your gift shopping. Black Friday, landing on the last Friday of the month (27 November), is set to be one of the biggest ever this year, with retailers offering some amazing deals on full price items (often up to 60/70% off).
If you’re clever, you can get all your Christmas shopping done at once! Here are my top tips…
1. Earmark what you want to buy in advance, do your research, make notes and plan ahead. I save links to products I like throughout the month, in the notes on my phone. It’s a great reference tool when you come to think about gift buying.
2. Have back-up options, not all retailers and brands will be taking part in Black Friday. Having said that, most shops are offering some brilliant discounts throughout the month – so it’s still a great time to get all your shopping done.
3. Find out who’s offering more than just discounts. In the run-up to Black Friday itself many brands are offering other ways for customers to engage with them, such as giveaways. Some retailers are also offering pre-sales.
Some brands have decided not to take part in Black Friday. Sales have been very tough this year, understandably, and they are offering seasonal discounts and offers instead.
If you’re a small retailer too, you need all the support you can get right now. This is something to bear in mind when you’re shopping. Some of the money you save from the big guys, maybe that could go towards supporting a smaller brand or local, high street store.
