A Night At The Royal Lancaster London, Hyde Park

A Night At The Royal Lancaster London, Hyde Park

With regal connections and a stone’s throw from Kensington Palace, the prestigious mid-century 5* Royal Lancaster London has undergone an £85m refurb to ensure it lives up to its reputation as one of London’s landmark hotels.

Overlooking the stunning Hyde Park, you are guaranteed some of the best views in London, from the luxurious bedroom suites to your breakfast table the following morning or the raft of award-winning, in-house restaurants and bars – you don’t actually need to leave the hotel!

Completely remodelled around 18 months ago, gone are the old-fashioned carpets and traditional feel, replaced by 300 sq metres of contemporary, white Carrara marble in the form of a palatial sweeping staircase in the lobby, on-trend jewel tone furniture and one of the largest banqueting venues in Europe (with a capacity of 3,000).

The design brief was “mid-century glamour and understated elegance – synonymous with London,” and the no-expense spared refurb has captured just that. Looking for that somewhere special to stay in London? You won’t be disappointed.

With 411 guestrooms and suites, the towering 18-storey venue has played host to Hollywood A-listers, musicians and royalty throughout its illustrious 50-plus year history, famously an after-party for The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine film premiere, attended by the group.

I stayed in the captivating Park Suite, which offered panoramic views across Hyde Park and London. With a lounge space perfect for entertaining guests, it truly captured the magic of London, showcasing all the best bits that the City has to offer.

The bathroom was the size of most sitting rooms, dressed head-to-toe in cool white marble, along with an array of The White Company toiletries, fresh cotton robes and slippers. I ran myself a deep, hot bath and never wanted to leave…

Breakfast the following morning included fresh honeycomb from beehives on the roof of the hotel, with bees that pollinate Hyde Park. Truly delicious!

Situated directly over Lancaster Gate underground station (central line), the hotel offers the perfect location to head out and explore. But, if you don’t fancy going far, just cross over the road to immerse yourself in Hyde Park’s beautiful, Italian gardens.

Room prices start from £249 for the Classic Room, for more information see contact details below.
