REVIEW: Point A Hotel, Kings Cross

WHAT? You’d be forgiven for having not heard of Point A hotels, a new budget hotel brand building on plenty of heritage. Starting off with six central hotels and one in Glasgow, they’ve big plans for expansion, but for now they’re all about offering a very well-priced place to stay in the middle of the action.

High end luxury this isn’t, but Point A rooms guarantee a comfy Hypnos bed, power shower, air con and a flat screen smart TV seconds from super convenient tube and train stations – everything you need before or after a long journey.

WHERE? Stop off for a snooze in Shoreditch, Kings Cross (where we spent the night), Canary Wharf, Westminster, Paddington or Liverpool Street if you’re pounding the pavements in London.

Come morning, you’ll find fresh breakfast downstairs, shelves groaning with freshly baked pastries, croissants, cinnamon swirls and bacon twists loaded with cheese. If you prefer something healthier, help yourself to create-your-own porridge bowls, yoghurts, fruits, juice and a steaming hot tea or freshly ground coffee – all for £9.

ANYTHING ELSE? There’s an ironing room on every floor, so you never get caught out not looking your best. Oh, and you can find a selection of grab-and-go snacks and hot drinks in reception if you’re ever caught out feeling peckish.
