REVIEW: Look Mum No Hands! Old Street
WHAT? An achingly hipster cycle cafe cum community centre, where a team of four full-time mechanics, baristas and cafe staff work to feed and water city cyclists.
Whether you drop in with a flat tyre or book a full service, you can pull up a chair, order a huge full English and watch cycling events on the big screen.
Like-minded people are everywhere, browsing the jazzy ‘Look Mum No Hands!‘ merch or chatting over the latest bike race, but the delicious brunch dishes and coffee are worth a stop in anytime.
INCOMING Basic Maintenance Course with Digger. Learn to fix your own bike in our bicycle basement at 49 Old St on Saturday 30th June: https://t.co/A3DWlq3FS8 pic.twitter.com/DcIrWyKHVm

WHERE? We visited Look Mum No Hands Old Street, but there’s a second site near Aldgate on Back Church Lane (LMNH Kitchen) and a pop up in London Bridge.
WHY GO? The atmosphere is super friendly and fun, ideal if you’re just getting into cycling and want to learn more in a non-judgey environment. The coffee’s hot and strong, and food is delicious, the ideal fuel for long weekend cycles or tough training sessions.
We loved the Veggie Breakfast (with an added sausage!) of scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans & sourdough but elsewhere on the menu you’ll find Classic Benedict, avo on toast, Bircher muesli and a mezze plate featuring Imam bayildi, hummus, grated beetroot, halloumi, harissa and a broad bean salad, plus tons more.
ANYTHING ELSE? There’s an ever-changing beer menu, with rotating guests on tap. Choose from Smog Rocket, Black Betty, Gamma Ray and Neck Oil, or Kernel, Vedett, Bristol Beer Factory, Magic Rock Brewery and Black Forest Beers.
Grab one while skilled mechanics give your machine a once over – from road bikes to Bomptons, cargo bikes to MTBs, hybrids to Dutch and motocross bikes, the team are experienced in all models and can help with wheel building, electronic gear systems, hydraulic brakes, suspension, belt drives and even tubeless tyres.
