REVIEW: The Diner, Islington

REVIEW: The Diner, Islington

WHAT? All-American diners scattered across London’s busiest areas – we headed to the Angel outpost for scrambled eggs, friendly service and seriously strong coffee .

WHERE? With locations in

WHY GO: For simple, fun dining in a casual setting there can be no easier option. The Diner is quick, friendly and soothing when you’re feeling jaded – it’s not gourmet, neither do you want it to be.

The all-day breakfast menu full of carb-laden treats and strong caffeine is here to save your hangover. Starving? Try the Lumberjack Breakfas (two eggs, buttermilk pancakes, bacon, maple syrup and whipped honey butter) or go all out with Huevos Rancheros – two eggs, tortilla, refried beans & tomato sauce. Want something a little lighter? Vegan Benedict hits the spot.

HOW MUCH? Stacks of three thick buttermilk pancakes with creamy whipped butter and maple syrup are only £5.95 – but we recommend bumping up to £7..50 to make ’em Red Velvet.

Don’t leave without sharing a milkshake or sampling a ‘Bacon Mary’, either – bacon salt, pickle juice & East London Liquor Co. vodka, muddled just enough to make your vision clear again.
