A Look Inside Jasper Conran’s Design Studio
It’s always a huge privilege to see a collection before its unveiling at London Fashion Week. Seeing a designer’s studio, their team and the creative process that goes into producing the final catwalk looks is fascinating.
I visited Jasper Conran’s design studio a week before his London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter ’16 catwalk show and had a look around the studio.
Every piece of fabric is hand sourced, cut and sewn with hundreds of hours from a skilled team of dressmakers, pattern cutters and technicians to produce the final looks that we all see displayed on the catwalk.
I love seeing the studio’s moodboards, which showcase the visual aesthetic for the season.
Not everything ends up in the final cut of course, but you get to see the creative process and get a feel for how the final looks have evolved.
The detail that goes into everything is incredible, these beautiful suede ankle boots for example have geometric heels which were hand sourced and created in Italy.

The final collection is shown on the catwalk. Visit the Jasper Conran website to see the catwalk show in full.
