NEW SEASON: Alexa Chung Designs Collection For M&S
Hot on the heels of the sell out “Alexa” suede skirt (which even made the BBC news!) – basically, Alexa wore a 70’s style suede M&S skirt last year which completely sold out and was said to have “jump started” the high street store’s first profit rise in four years – we see the launch of a collaboration between the two great British institutions.
Alexa has delved in to the M&S archives for a new 31 piece collection ‘Archive by Alexa,’ handpicking items which have been re-worked for 2016 (in new colourways and fabrics), all curated with her unique style eye. She has also directed the ad campaign.
This project is the first of the ‘M&S &…’ series, a number of “exclusive collections in collaboration with some of today’s most exciting designers, brands and fashion icons”. It makes total sense and with fashion sales needing something of a push this year, it’s a good idea.
“I have always had an affection for Marks & Spencer. I am thrilled to be part of this special and unique project. There was something very touching about looking back through the British fashion and social history for which M&S is synonymous”. Alexa Chung
Archive By Alexa will launch online and in selected stores this April.
