Beauty Treats For Valentine’s Day

Beauty Treats For Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Day beauty treats 2

I’m not a big fan of Valentine’s Day, the whole thing just feels quite forced. If you’re in a relationship you feel an obligation to do something ‘romantic’ (why not just do this on the other 364 days of the year?) and if you’re not, you’re just reminded of that fact everywhere you look. Or maybe that’s just me.

So, why not use Friday 14th to give yourself a little love, treat yourself to some lovely things, run a gorgeous hot bath and pour yourself a big glass of wine. I’ve been trying out a bunch of new beauty products over the last few weeks, so I thought I’d highlight some beauty gifts that you can treat yourself with this Valentine’s Day…

Seascape Island Apothecary Soothe Sleep Oil (pictured top), £10

I’ve had real trouble sleeping this last month, I keep waking up during the night with my mind running at about a hundred miles an hour. So, night time rituals have become very important to me. Seascape’s Soothe Sleep Oil is something I use every evening, a few dabs under my nose, on my pillow and on to my temples and the natural lavender oil, mixed with grape seed, orange flower and mandarin are instantly relaxing. The Soothe range is also safe to use during pregnancy. View it HERE>

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Souffle Body Cream, £44.50

Laura Mercier ambre vanille, FashionBite 2

I’m literally obsessed with this Laura Mercier body cream at the moment. The smell is absolutely amazing (a delicious mixture of vanilla, honey and grape seed with sweet almond) it’s also incredibly rich so perfect for dry, chapped Winter skin. View it HERE>

Lucy Annabella Organics Treatment Oil with Argan & Bergamot, £38

Lucy Annabella, FashionBite

This works as a lovely massage oil, made from 100% organic oils and essential oils, it is beautifully nourishing and lightly scented with Bergamot, Lemon, Lavender and Cypress. It’s also great if you add a few drops to the bath or use as a body oil after washing, just leaving about 5/10 minutes before dressing for it to soak in. View it HERE>

Smiths Of Jersey Regenerating Honey & Sea Salt Scrub, £24.99

Smiths of jersey scrub, FashionBite

With a tagline ‘skincare inspired by the sea,’ Smiths of Jersey (based in the Channel Islands) pride themselves on producing a range of organic products using natural marine ingredients, such as Sea Fennel, Irish Mosse and Sea Kelp. Their nourishing Thalasso Body Scrub is made from Atlantic Salt blended with honey, Shea butter, almond oil and marine extracts which gently exfoliates away dry Winter skin. I’ve been using it twice a week for the last month and my skin feels so soft and smooth afterwards. View it HERE>

Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo & Conditioner, £33.80

Morrocan oil moisture repair

I haven’t found a better shampoo and conditioner, if you’ve got dry or treated hair. Whenever I use the Moroccanoil shampoo and conditioner, it really gives my hair a massive moisture boost leaving it feeling so soft and glossy afterwards. It’s not cheap, but it’s really worth it. And you can just save it for special occasions or going out, so it doesn’t run out so quickly. I would warn though, this is not for normal condition hair, as it is too heavy and can leave your hair looking greasy. View it HERE>

ONE FOR THE BOYS…

I couldn’t miss out the guys, it is Valentine’s Day after all, and this new product range (from the Deep Heat family) is great if you’ve got a sporty, active boyfriend/partner or are a guy yourself.

Deep Heat Muscle Rescue Neck & Shoulder Cream, £3.63

Deep heat muscle rescue

A warming muscle rub, lightly scented with rosemary and vanilla, it is a great cream to rub into a partner’s (or even your own) shoulders after doing sports. Feeling less intense than the standard Deep Heat, it’s great for those slight post-exercise aches. My boyfriend plays a lot of football, so he loves using it after a game, along with the accompanying Bath Soak. View it HERE>
