5 Jewellery Brands You Should Know About…
With Christmas just around the corner, jewellery is a fantastic gift for friends and family. A statement necklace or some chunky rings, some sparkly earrings or stacking friendship bracelets, it will be a present that someone will cherish years later.
What’s more, there are some fantastic jewellery brands and retailers out there at the moment, some of whom are fairly new to the market too. I’ve met a bunch of them over the last few months and they’re a really inspiring lot. So, I thought I’d highlight five of my favourites…
This beautiful brand is a mixture of fine and contemporary jewellery, founded by the gorgeous Bec Astley Clarke – recently awarded an MBE for her services to the jewellery industry. With a mantra of “go precious every day,” the brand advocates jewellery that can be worn throughout your lifetime and passed down through generations. With a stunning product range and packaging, this brand really sets the bar for luxury British jewellery. I love the gorgeous, colourful stacking bracelets, pictured here at their recent press day. Available online at AstleyClarke.com also in Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty.
ALEX MONROE Having met and chatted to Alex Monroe at a recent event, I am now more in love with the brand than ever. He is the nicest, most down to earth man. And with a cult following amongst those in the know, his bumble bee and dragonfly necklaces have become iconic statement pieces and instantly recognisable. Alex told me that his designs are always inspired by nature and the countryside and everything is made in Britain, in his newly expanded workshop in the Elephant & Castle area. If you’re looking for a cult classic, this is the jewellery brand to go for.
Available online at AlexMonroe.com, also in Liberty and Whistles.
Queen of the luxury friendship bracelet, Monica Vinader is a favourite amongst the hip fashion crowd. With clean, simple designs, inspired by her travels all over the world, MV pieces are designed to stack all together in a chaotic, cool way. With fans such as Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora and Joudan Dunn, the Monica Vinader friendship bracelet sparked copycat designs all over and was responsible for the resurgence of the friendship bracelet craze a few years ago.
Available online at MonicaVinader.com, also in Selfridges, Harrods and Liberty.
CADENZZA Newly launched jewellery retail destination, Cadenzza, stocks its own label brand alongside a fantastic selection of designers ranging from Oscar de la Renta and John Paul Gautier to Mawi. I attended an event with them recently and I was really impressed with the selection of over 60 brands and product edit. If you’re into glitzy, statement jewellery, then this is the store for you.
Available online at Cadenzza.com, with standalone boutiques In Westfield and Bluewater.
ANNA LOU OF LONDON Founded by the delightful Anna Lou, she started selling handmade jewellery on Portobello Road Market and within months her designs were snapped up by Harvey Nichols. Nearly a decade later, Anna Lou London is now a recognised brand and central to her design ethos is fashion forward accessories and jewellery with a luxurious feel. I met Anna at an event with Handpicked Media during London Fashion Week and she was such a lovely, inspiring lady bursting with love and energy for her brand. Her signature pieces are the letter, tag and initial disk necklaces.
Available at AnnaLouofLondon.com, Selfridges, Harrods and ASOS.
