REVIEW: Free State Kitchen, Liverpool

Heading to Liverpool soon and looking for places to eat? Try Free State Kitchen, doing its bit to satiate Britain’s renewed hunger for proper comfort food. Lending a contemporary twist to classic American dishes (and complete with a cosy secret garden), Free State Kitchen has quickly become one of Liverpool’s most popular burger joints. Making use of only locally sourced, quality produce, this independent offering takes quality food very seriously.

The eclectic menu features several vegetarian and seafood burger options, but in terms of beef, the American Cheese Burger is our winner. A 5oz beef chuck patty in a soft brioche bun, with fresh onion, American cheese and sauces, it’s superb. The traditional creme soda and homemade Oreo cheesecake are up there with the best, too.
