Express Delivery! And It’s Not Another Bill…

We don’t know about you, but the only post we get through the letter box these days comes in the form of a bill, or on a particularly bad day, a speeding ticket. It seems all our correspondence is now tied up in technology – we rarely get postcards anymore, let alone a handwritten letter or card.

Wouldn’t it be nice, then, to walk to the front door one morning and discover an exciting parcel on the mat instead? The clever folk over at Not Another Bill think so – and so do we. With their help, customers can arrange for a surprise parcel to arrive through the letterbox once a month, to delight and inspire on an otherwise unremarkable day. Great as an unexpected treat for a friend or a pre-order pick-me-up, it’s amazing what one little present can do for your mood – as we found out when our first came through the door.

Arriving in a slim cardboard box, decorated in simple, kitsch style evocative of old-fashioned brown packages, our first gift contained a dainty perspex necklace made by none other that Tatty Devine – one of our favourite jewellery brands. Not Another Bill make a point of teaming up with creative companies they believe in, helping them gain fans while championing their innovative products, and we already know why they chose Tatty Devine.

Fun, smart and ahead of its time, the brand take everyday bric-a-brac and turn it into wearable jewellery, from tape measure rosettes to earrings in the shape of buttons and lightening bolts. For Not Another Bill, Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden created a limited edition chip fork necklace, inspired by the British seaside and made from their signature gold perspex.

We were thrilled to receive the eccentric piece of jewellery, which felt as though it had been tailored to our tastes and posted to us by a mystery benefactor. Can’t every present be like this? Sadly our relatives’ taste in gifts aren’t always as good as Not Another Bill’s, but now there’s no excuse not to treat yourself every now and again.

Previous gifts include beautiful make up bags by Chase And Wonder and quirky dinner trays by Crispin Finn, equally gorgeous and totally unexpected. We can’t wait for the next one – if you’re feeling skeptical, give it a go – you just might surprise yourself.
