3 Pencil Skirts To Invest In Now

3 Pencil Skirts to invest in now, FashionBite

The Pencil Skirt is one of the biggest trends to come off the catwalks this season (as seen at Louis Vuitton and Burberry). It’s also very wearable and flattering to boot.

(1. Lulu black tailored pencil skirt from Whistles – ideal for work, 2. This Agatha python-print textured pencil skirt ticks all the trend boxes, Preen at My-Wardrobe, 3. Striped canvas and silk pencil skirt, from stylist-come designer L’Wren Scott at Net-a-Porter.)

Some top tips for making the pencil skirt work for you…

*  Length is key. Just below the knee is flattering for most but if you’ve got a chunkier lower leg then just above the knee works better.

Contrast your skirt with your top. If you’re opting for a busier, printed skirt then choose a cleaner top half or with a plainer skirt, go for a printed blouse or shirt. One statement piece works best with this look.

Shoes are crucial. The pencil skirt lengthens and elongates, which is fabulous for the figure, but it also draws the eye downwards so good footwear is key. Now we’re coming into springtime, some courts, wedges or strappy sandals would do the trick.
