Have you seen the latest campaign from Converse, ‘Shoes Are Boring Wear Sneakers?’

In the campaign video (below), shoes and sneakers take on a life of their own, competing against one another to see who comes out top. With scenes including a catwalk show, cycling on a tandem  and travelling by bike (no taxi’s required!), the sneakers win in all – as the footwear option you can have much more fun in – and the video ends with the final slogan  “Shoes are boring wear sneakers.”

Converse has incredibly been around for over a century, difficult to imagine when you think of the styles today. But its mantra from the start was always to do something that bit different, a company “independent enough not to follow every other company in everything they do.” Converse soon grew a cult following and became linked to basketball players and sports stars alike. It went on to have big hits, with the likes of the All Star 2000 in the late 1990’s and grew into a cool, global brand with massive international appeal.
