Lapo’s Wardrobe – it’ll be the label on everyone’s lips come June. Frida Giannini has partnered with Italian businessman Lapo Elkann to create a made-to-measure collection the fashion market is screaming out for.

A “luxury sartorial service for the modern day gentleman”, the 27-piece collection will comprise 23 looks for men and four for women – including leather goods, shoes and jewellery – and offers a new take on Gucci’s existing made-to-measure offering.

Customers can be involved with their purchases at every level, from fabric selection, to fitting, final touches and delivery, with the help of specialist staff. Sounds perfect for indulging our renewed passion for old-fashioned shopping thanks to Season One of Mr. Selfridge…

Each piece is customisable, including the embossing of initials, while the range of luxury materials allows for over 178 possible combinations of colours and fabrics. Fashion heaven!

“Gucci’s made-to-measure programme is the pinnacle of our Made in Italy expertise and allows each man to express his own style impeccably,” said Giannini. “Lapo perfectly embodies my vision of Italian style as an attitude, an instinct to interpret fashion in an individual yet sophisticated way. Lapo pays great attention to detail and is never afraid to take risks.”

Lapo’s Wardrobe collection will be unveiled during the spring/summer 2013 Milan menswear shows in June, to coincide with the opening of a new dedicated Gucci men’s store.

The service will initially be available at Gucci boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Sao Paulo, so if your boyfriend’s birthday is coming up you’d better start saving…
