Mark Fast at London Fashion Week
Sharing an awkwardly-silent lift with a very blonde presenter, Zara Martin, sitting opposite Pixie Lott accompanied by chiseled cheeks BF Oliver Cheshire and appearing behind gothic clad singer Delilah, as she had her picture taken – it certainly was a pop-celebrity favourite over at Mark Fast.
The ME hotel’s rooftop bar acted as the perfect host to the Canadian designer’s presentation on the 10th floor, overlooking the most spectacular sights of London Town. It felt fresh, vibrant and exciting – as did the collection.
The knitwear specialist created volume with the fuchsia oversized ostrich coat, fashion forward with the Scarlett knitted sock boots by footwear designer Eelko Moorer and the absolutely breathtaking pink Oscar-savvy gown that feathered out from the thigh (one you know Rihanna will be snapping up pronto).
Touches like the different coloured racoon stripes on the back of each model’s head that just about poked out through the hooded, swim-like caps, Little Dragon on the soundtrack, head-to-toe black tight fitting mohair, all wrapped up in a dark, mysterious mood that surrounded the collection, which made for a captivating afternoon performance and one I personally think was his best show to date. Anyone who can make knitted fishnet neither slutty or cheap but cutting-edge, has my vote in style savvy abundance.
