LFW Beauty Report: Golden Girls At Burberry Prorsum AW13

Armed with Burberry base and bronzer, we’re one step closer to looking like Karlie Kloss…

Warm, golden tones turned youngsters Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss into elegant women for Burberry’s AW13 show. With Burberry Beauty creative consultant Wendy Rowe at the helm, themes of intelligence and sophistication shone brightly throughout the show.

“We’re going for a golden glow – oozing health and youth. It’s taking the Burberry girl and turning her into a woman,” she told Vogue.

Accents of gold appeared throughout ‘Trench Kisses’, which featured striking applique patterns and macs with contrasting sleeves and gold pocket panels.

Knee-length skirts restyled in wet-look fabric and leather skirts in hole-punched gold brought the drama while Tom Odell serenaded the audience with a heart-soaring rendition of ‘Hold Me’. Simply beautiful – we were almost in tears as his spellbinding voice filled the glass atrium!

“The collection is really intelligent and grown-up so the beauty look has developed with that. I’ve used black kajal in the roots of the lashes and beige kajal at the top, with gold tones to complement the gold in the collection.

Then groomed brows, mascara just on the top lashes and a mix of Burberry Fresh Glow and Sheer Foundation on the skin. And to finish – gorgeous, kissable lips”, Wendy added.

But what did our girl Karlie think of this season’s look?

“It’s the classic, beautiful Burberry woman – just gorgeous and really British. Have you seen this eye shadow? It’s amazing – Gold Trench is the shade. I love it, I’m going to try and grab it.”

And so are we…
