ISSA at London Fashion Week AW13
With Cara Delevingne opening the show in the brash, smirky way that has thrust her well and truly into the spotlight, the Issa show began.
Inspired by ‘rolling sandy hills, sprawling valleys, endless blue skies’- the home of Native Navajo Indians acted as a rich source of inspiration. The collection was as beautiful as ever; floaty fabrics, contemporary geometric prints and warm, rusty colours bound into floor length dresses, pleat front trousers and fitted jackets. Silk played a major role in giving the collection timeless indulgence, which is now part of the Issa culture, as did the felt hats with plumes of feathers that you know will be huge come AW13.
Mollie and Rochelle from The Saturdays (with bump) were there in white ankle socks and canary yellow, presenter Lauren Whitmore in a tomato-red cape and gorgeous, creamy hair, Zandra Rhodes as ever illuminating the FROW with her pink glow, Tamara Beckworth with child and Suzy Menkes’ iconic hair roll (what a legend.)
A stunning show- what else did I expect from Issa?
