Let’s hear it for the girls! The nominations for the 85th Academy Awards have been announced in Hollywood, and the lists are dominated by talented women. A special mention goes to the youngest ever best actress nominee – nine-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis for mythical drama Beasts of the Southern Wild. Her ethereal performance blew us away, and we’re rooting for her. The gifted youngster will be up against Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Riva – no pressure there, then.
