Champagne High Tea At Bleinheim Palace
It’s January and we’re all feeling it. Nothing to look forward to and everyone’s on detoxes. If you’re looking for a treat though to cheer you and a friend or boyfriend up, champagne high tea at Bleinheim Palace is as decadent and delightful as it sounds.
Served up in the private 19th century Indian Room, with original colonial murals painted across the walls and ceiling, it overlooks a spectacular fountain and garden outside. I went with the boyfriend on a bitterly cold but sunny Saturday afternoon [a birthday present from my parents] and we feasted on the delicious sandwiches, cakes and treats – all washed down with a few glasses of champagne.
Bleinheim Palace is located in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, just down the road from my folks house, so we made a weekend of it and went to see them, but you could equally book yourself into a beautiful Cotswold hotel nearby and make a weekend of it. I highly recommend Burford for places to stay, it’s absolutely stunning and will give you a real feel for the area.
