FASHION NEWS: J.W Anderson For Versace

FASHION NEWS: J.W Anderson For Versace

Versace’s younger brand Versus has been a bed of news this last month and the latest announcement – British designer J.W Anderson, known for his masculine aesthetic across both menswear and womenswear, is designing a capsule collection for the brand.

Versace said this is the first of a series of collaborations, part of the recently announced strategic repositioning of the brand under Donatella Versace, which led to the recent departure of Christopher Kane from the label.

J.W Anderson’s collection will be launched with a presentation event planned for March/April 2013 in New York and it will include both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories.

Jonathan William Anderson studied menswear at the London College of Fashion, graduating in 2005. He launched his eponymous own-label in 2008 with a men’s collection and more recently womenswear. He recently designed a capsule collection for Topshop.

Donatella Versace said: “I keep a close eye on young talent, and have been impressed by Jonathan’s work over the last couple of years. Versus is all about fun, change, and digital. I can’t wait to present this collaboration.”
