Christmas Shopping For The Boys
I absolutely love Christmas shopping, in fact I love Christmas altogether, so throwing shopping into the mix is just an added bonus.
I love thinking about the person, their likes/dislikes and what they’d really love to receive. I even love the whole wrapping process, as each year I try to creatively out-do the next with ribbons, string and home-made tags. I love the build-up to Christmas, the preparations and traditions – laying the Christmas table, Christmas dinner and of course great Christmas TV in the evening.
The only time I become slightly stuck is when I have to go shopping for the boys: e.g. my Dad or brother. I find it really difficult to know what to get them. If they’re sporty, you could opt for a pair of Nike trainers, if they’re classic a tie or cufflinks or if they’re into their gadgets then maybe an i-Pad case, but I find it more difficult than shopping for my female friends and family.
With that in mind, here are my top 3 tips for shopping for the boys…
- Plug into their hobbies. Even if it’s just drinking and socialising – get them a nice bottle of wine or Whisky.
- Experience gifts are great such as a weekend break, a dinner at a nice restaurant or tickets to a football match…and it means you get to enjoy the present too!
- But if in doubt…keep the receipt!
