London Fashion Week – Our Top 10 Spring/Summer ’13 Trends
London Fashion Week offered us a fair share of trends for the spring/summer season. Stylist, Rachel Dawson picks out her favourites from the catwalks…
“London is known for its quirky, creative, unique designs, however, for SS13 our favourite designers have upped the gear a notch and this season has proved to be the most consistent and sleek we’ve seen in a long time.
Colours vary from crisp white to bold primaries. Lines are very minimalist, but prints are totally maximalist. Dare to be brave with either clashing prints or coordinated separates – with SS13 the rule is: the bolder the better.
A personal favourite: sports luxe was a dominant trend on the catwalk. Following through from New York fashion week, our designers experimented with functional details and decorative fabrics.
Peeks of the 90’s were seen in trends such as dip-dye, the shrinking crop top and dungarees. Ashish even revived the ultimate 90’s hair accessory – the scrunchie topped off with sequins! Think nothing less than fabulous, bringing fun and glamour to the classic grunge style.
Fabrics were very decorative as London played with contrast. Matte on shine, sequins on lace, sheer against solid and hard against soft – this season, any combo works!
No matter what your shape, size or style is, LFW has catered for all this season. Putting words into pictures, take a look at the galleries below for my top 10 trends of SS13.
