FashionBite @FarFetch #digitaldressup Event!
http://rongotaiapartments.co.nz/wp-includes/class-wp-page-cache.php After a wonderful day supporting the incredible, most inspiring athletes at the Paralympics (and finally getting my hands on an athletics ticket after a summer of logging on, clicking, waiting, experiencing the wave of disappointment and then starting the same, mundane process an hour later) I made it down to the FarFetch Digital Dress Up event at the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms.
Carefully walking up the narrow winding staircase, the cool, warehouse-inspired floor was a sea of bloggers, journalists, photographers and fellow fashion lovers who all shared the same enthusiasm for the event. The idea being to become more familiar with the luxury website, which sell the most sought-after designer clothes and accessories from boutiques across the world.
With rows of stunning items available to try, from Versace, Balmain and Givenchy, it was our chance to style the looks with accessibility to a model, photographer and studio where the image would then be sent directly to you via a link. Hence the ‘Digital Dress Up’ title, it really is becoming a popular and the most idyllic idea to really get to know your customer and product.
After a glass of wine, greedily eyeing up a delicious pot of noodles (not pot noodle) and a quick saunter around the loft style space to the sounds of DJ Margot Bowman, it was FashionBite’s turn to shine. Inspired by the neon beaded necklace I was wearing (sold out instantly at H&M but my determination paid off when I hunted it down on eBay) we chose the brightly printed, typically Mary Katrantzou long sleeved dress (I really cannot get enough of her right now!) teamed with Marni brogues, an Acne wood-coloured flying jacket, to bring us beautifully into the AW season, and selected the model with the most striking hair colour (a fellow redhead of course!) It was a fantastic experience, seeing your look projected onto the wall in the main space and observing how others had put together their creations and what trends they were pushing for.
A quick ogle at the retro film set style lights later (another desirable edition for my bedroom) I had time to grab a quick pot of frozen yoghurt from the ‘Snog’ waiters (after seeing the tweets throughout the night, I think many would have loved the name to mean just that) it was time to get on the northern line home.
What a day!
