The Brigitte Bardot Experience at Villa Marie, Saint Tropez
Since a youthful, carefree Brigitte Bardot biked across St Tropez in ‘And God Created Women’ in the mid 1950’s, the French Riviera has been synonymous with glamour and luxury.
Every summer, the once quaint fishing village is overtaken by flocks of moneyed visitors hoping to capture the essence of celebrity and experience Bardot’s St Tropez. [FashionBite editor Emily Seares has just returned from a week on the Côte d’Azur, so keep posted for more St Toprez travel reviews shortly!]
Hotel Villa Marie is now offering its guests the chance to truly explore the famous town as Brigitte Bardot did.
Resembling a private house rather than a hotel, Villa Marie sits in the heart of a three-hectare pine forest just outside the village of Ramatuelle. The 45 room hotel reinvents the charm of the Riviera, offering delicious Mediterranean cuisine, immaculate interiors and an inviting swimming pool carved from the hillside’s rock.
Especially for summer 2012, Villa Marie has introduced the ‘La Dolce Vita’ package, aiming to recreate Bardot’s sun-soaked, luxurious stays in the town. The hotel’s visitors can hire old style Vespas just as the blonde bombshell did back in the 50’s, feeling the wind in their hair as they speed along the jaw-dropping Mediterranean coastline.
Guests can discover private beaches and exclusive coves that would make the perfect hideaway for an A-lister attempting to escape unwanted attention. Once they’ve found the perfect spot for a quiet seaside lunch, couples can unload a traditional wicker basket beach bag provided by the hotel to find two beach towels and two straw hats.
Following a peaceful afternoon in the sun, guests can bike to the Quai in the port of St Tropez, where they will be served apertifs in the style of a true movie icon.
Rooms at Villa Marie start from €370 per night based on two people sharing. The ‘La Dolce Vita’ Vespa package is based on two days hire for two people at €210.

We think this is a fabulous idea, and it really got us thinking. If you could experience the life of a celebrity, who would you choose? Perhaps Buckingham Palace will begin offering the ‘Kate Middleton’ experience soon…
