Hey There Hot Lips!!

Hey There Hot Lips!!

Beauty Reporter: Marianne Gray

Neons were all over the catwalks for SS 2012 and while some of us have no qualms about donning a pair of bright yellow shorts, this is one trend that can be a little daunting. Fortunately, there are some amazing make up collections around this season and a fluoro pout can be the perfect way to brighten a look without ever having to leave your comfort zone.

The two colours dominating the lip scene this season are coral and pink, and while there is nothing more appropriately summery than a bright pink lip, there is something very cool and somehow a little more daring about an orangey coral. Unable to choose between the two we’ve had a look at some of our favourite beauty brands and narrowed it down to a few favourites.

Mac Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Booyah

One of the favourite pieces from the recent Beth Ditto collection, Mac Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Booyah (£16.50) really couldn’t have a more fitting name. This shade is vibrant and attention-seeking, bang on trend this season but not for the faint-hearted.

Topshop’s Lip Stick in Clueless

Topshop’s Lip Stick in Clueless (£7) is the perfect summer shade, as carefree and girly as they come, but still dramatic enough to make a statement – much like a certain Alicia Silverstone character from whom it presumably got it’s name. Love the very matte finish.

Illamasqua Lipstick in Flare

It seems Illamasqua were ahead of the trend – as they so often are – when they launched their Toxic Nature collection last summer. This Lipstick in Flare (£15.50) is the perfect vivid summer hue, again with a gorgeous matte finish.
