June sees the arrival of the much anticipated Beth Ditto collection for MAC and FashionBite can’t wait for the launch!

Lead-singer of indie band Gossip, Ditto is famous for her eclectic style and love of all things bright and daring so it came as no surprise when MAC unveiled  their new collection in all its vibrant glory.

While playing along with some of summer’s key beauty trends with neon lipsticks like Dear Diary and pastel nail lacquers in Near Beth Experience and (our favourite) Vagabondage, Ditto for MAC, like the lady behind it, is both on trend yet, somehow, very different.

MAC launched the collection with an advertising campaign, set to reveal the playful aspect of Ditto’s collection, showing the singer covered in blue polka dots, with dramatic winged eyes and shielding half her face with a decoy face painted onto her arm. MAC makes it clear that this collection is not simply about make-up, but dressing up child-style, having fun and experimenting.

This explains one of the collection’s most interesting pieces. Powder to the People is a face powder made up of different coloured polka dots to “play with” (as per MAC’s instructions) to create highlighting effects.

Ditto recently discussed her love of make up with stating “I love that it has the potential to transform a person; you can become a clown or a princess.”  Whether you’re a clown or a princess, MAC’s playful new collection gives you the option to be either.
