Christopher Raeburn awarded NEWGEN sponsorship for Spring/Summer ’12
Ethical designer Christopher Raeburn has been awarded NEWGEN sponsorship for the second year running, giving him the funds and support to showcase his spring/sumer ’12 collection during a presentation at London Fashion Week in September. I love Raeburn’s work, I wrote about his autumn/winter ’11 collection after seeing him at Estethica, the ethical arm of the British Fashion Council, in January.
His autumn/winter 11 outerwear range (which he showed in January) was made from a patchwork of recycled materials using old, war-time military parachutes, with bursts of fluorescent colour…so I can’t wait to see what he has in store for spring 12!
Christopher Raeburn said: “We’ve got some very exciting plans for SS12, so I’m incredibly pleased to receive NEWGEN’s support for the season. The award and mentoring is invaluable in helping to develop my brand, so thank you to the panel and BFC. We’ve really grown the product range for SS12, so I can’t wait to build on last season’s presentation and once again show off the collection in an innovative way.”
The British Fashion Council has announced a list of all the NEWGEN sponsorship recipients for SS12, so keep posted for a full breakdown..including one of my absolute favourite London Fashion Week designers!
