Planning a wedding with a difference…?

Planning a wedding with a difference…?

Homemade London, FashionBiteIf you’re planning a wedding, you have a fairly tight budget and you’re the creative type, Homemade London has the answer..

Homemade London, a Marylebone craft salon, is hosting a unique wedding event, the ‘Personal Wedding Fair’ for people who are looking to create an intimate wedding experience using their own ideas, individuality and creativity.

During a day of workshops with a wedding planner, photographer, stylist, florist and Homemade London’s team of designers, customers will learn how to bring their ideas to life by incorporating fantastic personal details into every aspect of the big day, whilst keeping costs under control. The event is taking place on April 10th from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Homemade London director Nicola Barron said: “This will be completely different to other wedding fairs, which are essentially about selling the services of suppliers involved – the Personal Wedding Fair is about empowering people with the knowledge and confidence to do-it-themselves in a stylish way.

“Guests at a wedding should leave feeling like they know the couple just that bit better from being there and we’ll be helping people achieve this.”

Among the experts at The Personal Wedding Fair will be:

* Stylist Lucy Garrett (Lucygarrettstyling.com) from the Channel 4 series Wedding House, who will talk through the things every woman should consider when choosing her wedding dress and will be opening up her little black book of the best places to shop for discerning brides-to-be.

* Wedding Planner Lucinda George (lucindageorge.com) who will be offering tips on creating a wedding theme and balancing inspired design with budget

* Photographer Rebecca Portsmouth (Rebeccalouise.com) will shed light on the different types of wedding photography and what works for you, how to select and brief your photographer and if you’re deciding to DIY – how to brief nominated photographers so you get the results you want to commemorate your big day.

* Homemade London’s creative team will also be on hand to help you create some beautiful yet simple hand-crafted touches to create impact and personality without blowing the budget.

Tickets for the day cost £50 including a luxury goodie bag and are available through the Homemade London website Homemadelondon.com.

I have so many friends and family getting married over the next few years and I love the sound of this event. I like the idea of being able to put your own personal stamp on your wedding- whether it’s handmade invitations, place settings or even bridesmaid dresses for the slightly more ambitious! This event sounds like a great starting off point, it’s not necessarily about keeping costs low, I think you should be adding your own personal, creative touch to your wedding whatever your budget.
