Detox Your Wardrobe with FashionBite

Detox Your Wardrobe with FashionBite

Ok, so if you’re bored of detoxing your body, why not have a go at detoxing your wardrobe- it’s amazing how theraputic it feels. New year, fresh start, spring clean and simplify.

Cancer Research UK has launched a ‘Detox Your Wardobe’ campaign throughout January and is asking people to donate unwanted items, including clothing, homewares, books DVDs, to any of the 600 Cancer Research UK shops nationwide. Each bag of donated goods can be worth up to £30 for the charity…so what better excuse to have a good old clear out!

Amie Ibrahimi-Brown, head of retail marketing at Cancer Research UK, said:  “All of us at some point can be guilty of hoarding clothes we don’t need but it can actually be counterproductive for your style.  You may have forgotten about a fantastic little dress hidden at the back of your wardrobe because it’s hidden by all those woolly jumpers your mum knitted for you.  A good detox will allow you to take stock of everything you have, what you can still wear, and what you can give away, which will breathe fresh life into your wardrobe.”

Beat the Jan Blues at Buy My Wardrobe, a fashion recycling extravaganza!

For a full on fashion recycling fest, check out Buy My Wardrobe, a London-based event which takes place on Saturday 29 Jan at private members club Adam Street.

A self confessed group of shopaholics, designers, stylists and fashion industry insiders (collectively known as the ‘wardrobe mistresses’) will open the doors to their stylish closets.

Each wardrobe mistress will have their very own boutique-style space to set up shop for the day. Expect to find pre-loved designers items ranging from Chanel and Gucci to Preen and Vivienne Westwood at up to 75% off retail prices.

There will also be mini style consultations by Nicky Hambleton-Jones’ NHJ Style Agency, a vintage remake workshop hosted Home Made London, specialist vintage by Dandy Dolls, Blossom & Jasmine manicures and a book signing and style talk by Bethanie Lunn of The Modern Girl’s Guide To Fabulousness.

The event opens with a VIP Champagne Preview Hour from 12noon-1pm where ticket holders get priority entry and indulgent treats including Champagne and Cupcakes. Door Entry from 1-4pm is £5.
