9 Of The Coolest Things About London Fashion Week
Creative Inspiration: There’s so much innovation, creativity and talent at London Fashion Week from the designers through to the production teams, make-up artists, hair stylists and photographers that you can’t help but feel inspired.
Designer Showrooms: This is the space where designers show their collections to press and buyers in person, often if they haven’t presented as part of a catwalk show.
It features a lot of newer clothing and accessories designers – what I love is you get to see the collections and craftsmanship up close and are able to speak to the designers themselves. Bags by Mayrafedane (Olivia Palermo’s a big fan!) pictured below.
Prosecco Water Coolers! Only at Fashion Week can you get Prosecco on tap instead of water. I spotted this at the Grooming Room: Women’s Edit, a place for press and media to relax, have a massage/manicure and catch-up in between shows.
Backstage Buzz: Interviewing make-up artists, hair stylists and models backstage is a lot of fun, you get to pick-up some great beauty tips and there’s always a real energy and buzz.
Meeting Other Bloggers & Journalists: London Fashion Week is very much about networking, particularly for bloggers. It’s a good time to put a face to a name, if you haven’t met them in person before and be introduced to some new blogs too.
The Apartment is a great space to hang out during London Fashion Week, full of bloggers, brands and delicious treats. They hosted a breakfast with Alice Temperley on the Sunday, I’m pictured here with the designer.
The Parties! There are always some amazing parties during London Fashion Week. Alexa Chung kicked things off in Soho on Thursday night with the launch of her new collection for M&S.
Catwalk Shows: Watching a fashion show is always an honour and I love seeing the designer’s creative vision for that season played out on the catwalk. I’m pictured here on the front row of Jasper Conran’s AW16 show.
Style Ideas: There are so many individual dressers (some a bit OTT I have to say!) but seeing all the amazing outfits people wear, with such cool style, you feel really inspired in your own look.
Seeing What The Shops Have Done! To celebrate London Fashion Week, lots of the big flagship London stores put on events, which everyone can get involved in e.g. Topshop Oxford Circus, pictured here.
