Festival Fresh, Thanks To The Powder Room

The Powder Room at Glastonbury

We love summer festivals more than we can say, but have to admit the grease and grime that comes with them almost puts us off, year on year.

Camping for up to five days with no creature comforts to speak of strikes fear into the hearts of many girls and we think it’s a crying shame that this could rob them of the festival experience of a lifetime. We hit Glastonbury last week safe in knowledge that we could see our favourite bands, roll in the mud (thankfully there was hardly any!) and head back to a hot shower every morning. How? With a trip to The Powder Room

Picture a muddy field, with unspeakable toilets and absolutely no access to the beloved electricity that makes the likes of hair straightening, drying and phone charging possible. Now imagine a tented oasis a short walk from your campsite, filled with individual showers, dressing tables, hairdryers, straighteners, sofas, toilets… and plug sockets. The people behind The Powder Room understand how a hot shower, cup of tea and a mirror can be the difference between a great day and a terrible one when you’ve been battling the elements for three days in a field and can’t stop dreaming of feeling clean.

They’ve worked hard to create a clean, serene haven filled with all the creature comforts our bodies cry out for during a festival, thinking of everything from towels to conditioner, beauty treatments to comfy sofas. To enjoy the life-saving facilities, guests could simply purchase a ticket before the festival (£49) which they picked up on arrival. Pamper packages were available that included luxury tents and special treatments from an army of beauty therapists on site and we can’t tell you how appreciative we were of a smiling face offering a phone charger on a hungover Saturday morning. Just 9 minute’s walk from our tents, the service could not have been more convenient. Soaping up in the shower knowing you’ll be watching The Arctic Monkeys and The Rolling Stones in a few short hours, feeling clean and fresh while everyone else endures the grime, is a fabulous feeling money really can buy.

We can’t wait to see The Powder Room at another festival soon and urge you to try them out when they next pop up. When they do, we’ll have all the details. Money well spent, guaranteed.
