LAUNCH PARTY: Blue Tit Salon in Clapton, East London

Blue Tit Clapton, FashionBite

FashionBite was treated to a delightfully different three-course meal at the launch of Blue Tit’s brand new salon in Clapton.

Since it opened less than 12 months ago in Dalston, Blue Tit’s first salon has fast become one of the most popular places to get your hair done in East London, so it was only a matter of time before directors Andi and Perry branched out (although sticking to the salon’s east-end roots) and opened a second salon.

To celebrate the opening, Blue Tit flew in innovative chef Daniel Morgan to create a very special blue tit inspired menu, serving up a few culinary firsts for the FashionBite team including quail drumsticks, mushroom ketchup and bee pollen.

But what else would you expect from a salon that has made a name for itself by being a little unique? The Blue Tit Salons are about more than just a haircut. Decorated with vintage furnishings, antique studio lights and showcasing artwork from up and coming artists, Blue Tit Clapton is part salon, part coffee-house and part gallery making it one of the coolest places to get a hair-cut in London and, as it happens, one of the best.

With stylists who have worked in some of the best salons across the globe as well as a couple of Fashion Weeks, Blue  Tit knows about hair, offering a range of services from a simple cut and finish to the infamous Brazilian blow-dry, and using only natural products from hair-care brand Davines.

But if you’re more about the paint brush than the hair brush, pop downstairs and check out the photographic studio available for photo-shoots and exhibitions for emerging artists. Currently on show is Skull Artist Lauren Baker, whose pieces gave us lots to talk about over our Kuzu Nest starter!
