London College of Fashion MA students are due to launch a new exhibition called re:address, exploring British heritage and vintage fashion.
Curated by fifteen MA Fashion Curation students, the week-long exhibition will take place in Kingly Court, just off London’s Carnaby Street from March 22-27. I work just off Carnaby Street two/three days a week, so will definitely be popping down!
The exhibition will explore our perception of historical garments as precious objects, either as a relic in a museum or revived as vintage clothing.
It will also look at vintage fashion in London today, featuring pieces from the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martin archives, London vintage shops and a selection of pieces from the students own wardrobes.
To coincide with the exhibition, a panel discussion on British vintage and its influence on current fashion will take place at the London College of Fashion on the evening of 26th March. LCF students and the public are welcome to attend.
The students are also looking to raise money for the exhibition, CLICK HERE to see how you can help. For more info on the exhibition itself, visit the website at re-address.co.uk.
