MUST-SEE BOUTIQUE – The Laden Showroom in Brick Lane, London

The laden showroom, FashionBiteIt’s not often that I get v. excited about a shop (ok, that’s a lie!!), but seriously The Laden Showroom is an amazing store in East London and you have to see it, particularly if you love your new and emerging labels. But the best thing, it’s really good value too!!

It is full to bursting with around 70 independent fashion designers, a lot of whom live locally in Brick Lane, who offer varied and eclectic collections which cater for pretty much every taste. Price points are brilliant, ranging from around £20 to £80 which makes the clothing really accessible as well.

The store is reminiscent of a market style layout, with each designer having they’re own little stand/booth area, and you get that same excited feeling as if you’re rifling through a market stall and picking up amazing bargains.  I love to support emerging designers where possible, but can’t always afford to (!)- but this boutique makes young, upcoming labels affordable. As a shopper, you’re also getting something unique because the designers don’t mass produce.

I headed there twice in one week, the first time I picked up the lace top (below) from the label Chandelier which is so cool and light – perfect for spring/summer. Admittedly, it was during a Sale but it only cost me £10! I also got this fab cardigan by the label Meteor Shower London for £15 in the Sale and the dress by Miss Patina which I was wearing when I interviewed Paul Smith for £40 or so.

It takes you quite a while to get around all the designers’ collections, my friend and I spent a good afternoon there- but once you’ve seen everything you can spill out on to Brick Lane and accessorise your purchases from one of the many fab vintage stores that line the street. I picked up 2 great leather belts from the vintage shop Relik for £18.

The store is definitely worth  a visit, but if you want to have a browse beforehand check out its website at The Laden Showroom (although it doesn’t really do it justice!)
